Centre for Public Policy - which functions under the aegis of Rai Foundation - organized a Discussion on the "Crisis in the Farm Sector - Policy Options" on Saturday, 20th September '08 at India International Centre Annexe at 6:00 pm. Distinguished Agricultural Scientist, Padma Vibhushan, Member of Parliament and Father of India's first Green Revolution - Dr. M.S. Swaminathan - addressed the participants and also interacted with them. Policy makers, NGOs, Academics and Private & Public Sector representatives, and Media Persons attended the Discussion. Mr. D. R. Kaarthikeyan - President, National Agriculturists Awareness Movement, Bharat Bio Fuel Growers and Manufacturers Association, Foundation for Peace, Harmony and Good Governance and Former Director CBI - advised the Centre on this initiative. Dr. Abid Hussain - Former Ambassador to USA and Chairman, Governing Board of the Centre for Public Policy - chaired the session.
