College of Computing and Applied
Software Engineering (CCASE), under the aegis of Rai Foundation, has
become the first IBM PartnerWorld participant in India. CCASE entered
into a Memorandum of Understanding with computer major IBM to equip
students to successfully enter the job market after graduation. The
Partnership with industry leaders such as IBM helps scale new heights in
the realm of technical education and IBM's Academic Initiative Program
will help students to effectively meet industry requirements and provide
great employment opportunities, specially with IBM.
Under the initiative, the faculty would learn to use IBM's latest
software tools, which they would impart to the students. The program
will enable the participants to have a hands-on experience in IBM
software products namely DB2, WebSphere Rational software testing tools
and Tivoli. Mentors from IBM along with the faculty will closely monitor
the work of the students.
The first batch is starting on June 15, 2007 and is strictly based on
entrance test from IBM. IT major IBM, in collaboration with its business
partners, has announced the date for entrance exam on May 28 and June 6,
2007. The duration of the course is 3 months. Urvesh Chaudhary, HOD -
Computer Science Rai Foundation Engineering College, says, "enrolling
for IBM's certified courses puts an end to all career related worries of
students." She further adds, "This course has tremendous
potential and is being mooted as the solution to tackle the high number
of vacant jobs in IT industry."
IT major IBM has a formidable presence in Indian market and they want
to expand. For this, they require more and better professionals. That's
why IBM is offering this very economical course. Praising this tie-up,
Executive Director Rai Foundation Ms. Nymph Kaul says, "to meet
