Foundation jointly with The Institution of Electronics &
Communication and Computer Society of India organized the Seminar Innovation
in Information & Communication Technology. In the welcome note
Assistant Director Rai Foundation Mr. Viney Kakkar said, the
technology is changing by every minute and creativity and innovation are
buzz words as far as information & communication technology (ICT) is
concerned. Dr. Vikram Kumar, Director National Physical
Laboratory, emphasized that no innovation was possible without
knowledge. Mr. Kumar also threw light on gray areas of existing high-end
technology.
Executive Directory Rai Foundation Ms. Nymph Kaul said, The
technology has added enormous speed to every day activities of the
common man. Mr. Satya N. Gupta, Chief Regulatory Advisor-BT Global
Services SAARC Region, made the presentation Next Generation
Networks. Major General L. Teheliani explained the cause and
effect of the rapid changes in the ICT technology. He also shared his
wide experience with the armed forces, which he said were always ready
to innovate.
Mr Prashant Sharma of IBM spoke of the advantage of Opensource
Initiative of his group. He further added that the technology had the
unique ability to reduce costs while providing innovation. IBM has
offered skill-building resources for a broad range of emerging open
source projects, providing access to hundreds of technical articles,
tutorials, forums and blogs.
Mr. Kakkar in his vote of thanks said, there is a need to inject
technology at every stage of education to make students tech-savvy.
The point of agreement at the seminar was that with developments in
technology taking place literally by the minute, the youth had to change
their attitudes to adapt to these changes and creativity can
bring the spark of innovation to the world.
