The Centre for Public Policy under the aegis of Rai Foundation is instituting ‘Rai Awards for Excellence 2011’. People who have delivered exemplary work in verticals like handicrafts, education, women empowerment, art & culture, entertainment, health, poverty eradication, activism, journalism, technology, environment, legal & consumer rights, social sector, agriculture or other important areas are invited to submit their profile and achievements. Only individuals will be considered for the awards.

The awards would include well known people who have made a mark in or outside their area of work. It would also include people who are working silently in their area in some remote corner of the country and are lesser known.

Nominations will be decided by Jury members. Jury consists of 28 eminent achievers who are icons in their respective fields. The award includes a trophy, a citation and cash award of Rs. 51,000/- (Rupees Fifty One Thousand) for upcoming achievers. There will also be two lifetime achievement awards of Rs. 1,01,000/- (Rupees One Lakh One Thousand).

Awardees will get national recognition plus additional support as required. Short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
