PlACEMENT MANAGING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
Commensurate with its vision of fulfilling aspirations of the youth through education and public opinion for reforms in education by involving Opinion Leaders from all walks of life, Aspirations India in its on-going Lecture Series organized a workshop under the chairmanship of Ms Jyothi Menon - Vice President (People Practice), Lason India Limited and also Visiting Faculty at Rai Business School Chennai.
The workshop-cum-dialogue series titled "MANAGING ORGANISATIONAL CHANGES" was envisioned towards understanding the phenomenon of "Change" in present day organizations, which are rapidly speeding towards globalization and proliferation. Mr. G.K. Kalidasan - Vice President - HR and Legal, ISG NovaSoft Technologies Ltd (A KK Birla Group of Companies) was the Honorable Chief Guest and also enlightened the students of Rai Business School, Chennai with a farsighted and futurist lecture.
The purport of the dialogue series was targeted to understand the phenomenon of "Change" with an HR perspective. It was an open-minded discussion over the impact of change in organizations, where students of Rai Business School over-whelmingly participated. The connoisseurs adorning the workshop gave instructs to students on the relevance of today's smart MBA Manager and also gave an opinion on how to cope up with the changes and situations which have drastically effected manpower working today.
Chairperson Ms Jyothi Menon emphasized on the relevance that change is imminent within an organization in today's world. She pointed out that in India the problem today is not so much of "Unemployment" as much as it is "Unemployability". She emphasized the increasing need of interaction between the students of Business Schools like Rai Foundation and the Industry. An academia-industry interface in regular intervals is always a healthy sign and increases the understanding of a student well before they join any corporate. She pointed out that Rai would focus on this paradox and ensure that the students are 100% "Employable".
The workshop focused on the adaptability measures which need to be sought by future Managers. The students being future managers should be allowed to go through the different levels of career model for acquiring knowledge on "Skills based Activity", "Competency-Core Competency", and "Consolidation". They should prepare themselves before taking up any assignment, interview or even a test. Mr. G.K. Kalidasan was of the opinion that all of them - teachers, students professionals or young corporate managers should be prepared with a "homework" beforehand. He also called for the Intellectual thinking and re-thinking to be an embedded process, where in the individual constantly learns throughout life. Adding on he said, taking the change phenomenon positively, companies have reached greater heights. He concluded that important institutes like Rai Foundation needs to be the "Authorized Change Agents" to bring about a dynamic change and get the students community at large prepared for the tomorrow's world.
